If your inbox seems a bit cluttered and a lot of the clutter is from the same sources, you may want to try out some of gmail’s filtering features. To see what I am talking about check out the video below…

We also pride ourselves in helping you finding you the support you deserve.

“How much hard drive space do I need?” This is a question we frequently get here in the store. The simple answer is “probably not as much as you think”. For 90% of the people we talk to our d630′s with an 80gb drive are more than enough for surfing the net, casual camera and music use, and school work. Does that huge hard drive number of 320 gb, 500 gb, or even something in the Terabyte range look appealing? Sure. Do you need it? Read our three myths below to find out..

Myth #1: A bigger hard drive will make my computer run faster.

A common misconception is that the bigger the hard drive, the faster the computer. Although it is true that a system can start to slow down once it gets down to the last few gigs, for the large majority, the hard drive will never get this low. If you are only using 10gb of space it will not matter if you have an 80gb drive installed or a 750 gb drive installed. Your system will perform exactly the same. When making a purchase, pay attention to the processor speed and the ram if you are concerned with speed with more emphasis on processor speed. Ram can easily be upgraded for a marginal fee down the road if needed.

Myth #2: Smaller hard drives can’t possibly hold what I need.

Do you have more than 5,000 pictures on your computer? What about more than 17,000 songs or 140,000 documents? Did you know that based on the average size of a picture, song, and word document, an 80gb drive can hold 5,600 pictures, 17,500 songs, 145,000 documents, or a combination of the three? That’s a lot of media. Long story short, unless you plan on storing a large number of music and/or movies on your computer, a smaller drive may hold much more than you think.

Myth #3: A big hard drive is the most important factor when buying a computer.

Don’t get me wrong, what size hard drive you need is a factor, but it is rarely the most important factor. Hard drives are one of the first parts to go out, so if you are going to spend money replacing a part it will most likely be the hard drive. When you replace it, simply go ahead and put in an upgraded size. If two or three years down the road you are running low on space, same deal. Upgrade your drive. Parts like the screen size, processor speed, and motherboard availability are much more important factors when it comes to the purchase in my opinion. For the most part you are stuck with all three and cannot upgrade or change out any of them. It takes a little more research, but make sure those three are what you need rather than jumping on the first big number seen on the hard drive size.

Ever get tired of trying to remember all those passwords? Password for your email, for your bank, for Facebook, for your other email you forgot you even had, and on and on it goes. Better yet, some sites force you to change your password every couple of months! Why can’t everything just have one password? Well with LastPass it can. I love and use LastPass practically every day. It securely keeps my passwords in one place with one password to access them all. Of course that one password needs to be private and something a little better than “password” or “123456789″, but given that you can come up with something even semi-secure, LastPass is for you. The scaled-down version is free. Check it out at lastpass.com or if you want to read one of the better reviews I have seen on it go to CNet’s Review.
